Why does my phone say Telus instead of Public Mobile?

This is set by the phone. You can't change it. Ignore it.  If you put sim in a different phone, it'll say Public Mobile.

My phone said Telus for a few days and then changed to PM.  It is all good.

Assuming your phone was previously on Telus and you do have a PM sim installed? Try a network reset and then a hard boot of your phone. Let us know.
