Model numbers of Samsung S21 FE 5G that work with VoLTE?

I would really like a S21 that I can use in the USA. which now seems to be LTE only.

The list of compatible phones says "Samsung S21 FE 5G (EWB3 & above)"

From what I can tell, EWB3 is part of a software/firmware/build number, but does not seem easily searchable and I cant determine which phones are compatible from any online sites. I did try one and it was not compatible (Model No SM-G990W).

I you have PM VoLTE enabled S21 FE 5G, I would greatly appreciate it if you could post the model number so I can at least narrow my search. Thanks!

Great! Thanks so much to you and everyone else here for their help. Now I know what I am looking for and what not to look for (the toggle ).

I really appreciate everyone's help!

hi @PeteJ

the toggle will be hidden but the PM will enable the VoLTE for you. Only draw back is you cannot manually disable it if you want

OK, so just to confirm I have understood correctly, for PM the VoLTE toggle will always be hidden for the S21 FE 5G.

The reason for being so specific is I am planning to buy a S21 FE 5G (since the S20 doesnt support LTE) and I dont want to spend $300 or so and discover it doesnt work in the US.

hi @PeteJ

the VoLTE toggle will be hidden

probably not.  Telus network hide it as it will turn it on by default if your phone is on the whitelist

if you need to manually turn on or off, you need to download those app

Thanks! One possible issue eliminated! Do you know if the "VoLTE calls" on/off switch in  the Mobile Networks setup menu appears in the S21 when the carrier (PM) enables VoLTE abilities on the S21?

@PeteJ  No being in 4G plan won’t make a difference , if you have voLTE it won’t show has voLTE call it should just stay on LTE and not drop to 3G when making a call

the plan just determines the top speed.  Your 4G plan gives you are top speed of 100Mbps

but you are free to connect to 5G or 4G network , top speed stays 100Mbps

You mention 5G area. My plan is "4G speeds" - would that be messing things up?

To all you kind folks who responded to my question:

Does  (a PM Volte Enabled) S21 FE 5G show a "VoLTE calls" on/off switch in in the Mobile Networks setup menu the way it does in a S20? My S20 shows that switch with a Fido/Rogers Sim but not with a PM sim .   I  had assumed the presence of that same switch on the S21 when a PM sim was inserted would indicate it was PM Volte compatible. Or does that switch simply not show up in the S21 ever? (I did try a S21 FE 5G and so such switch appeared with the PM sim inserted)

Thanks!!!!

S21 does not have VoLTE too.  Only S21FE has VoLTE

but with 5G, yes, full S21 series have 5G

@PeteJ  It’s just the s20 series phones that do t get 5G with public mobile and voLTE the s21 should be fine for both , be sure you in. 5G area and set phone network to 5G not LTE . And you can test for voLTE by leaving phone on LTE with wifi off . Now make a call does the phone stay on LTE or drop to 3G ? If it stays on LTE voLTE is enabled if it drops to 3G then voLTE not enabled
