Mobile Data unavailable

Hi, 

 

I'm tech-challenged, so this may be an obvious problem & solution; my apologies. 

Since Sunday April 14, every time I tap Mobile Data, it says "Disconnected because service is unavailable."  I made no changes/alterations to anything (I wouldn't know HOW!) before this started.  I'm paying for mobile data and would really like to have it back.  My phone is an HTC Desire 510.

That must be an old PM plan. You might also want to consider switching plans because the new PM plans will give you alot more data than your existing plan.

 

For $45 (30 days) you get:

 

  •  6 GB Data + 500 MB (Bonus with AutoPay)
  •  Unlimited Canada-wide  Talk
  •  Unlimited International Texts

The is another plan currently available until April 22, 2019 that is similar to what you currently have for $25.00 provided you have AutoPay enabled.

If you consider changing your plan make sure you choose to have it take effect on your next renewal date so that way you won't lose for what you have paid for your existing plan.

Ja, VERY old.  Way back in the ZTE 3G days lol.  I didn't know there was anything comparable to my current plan; every time I checked, they all looked more expensive.  Now that the call centre is no more, I suppose it's time for a change.  (That was pretty much the only advantage to having the Legacy account.)  Thanks for the info!

No, it just a quick way of doing a soft reset on your account. It won't hurt anything but might be able to fix your issue:

 

  1. Login to your self-serve account.
  2. Report your phone lost/stolen using  the Plan and Add-Ons select  the  Lost/Stolen option.
  3. Wait 5 minutes
  4. Report your phone found.
  5. Re-start your phone

Ok, thanks. (Hey, I figured out how to quote lol!)  I've got a half hour before leaving for work, so I'll try it now.  Ish.

It's Active; calls and texts are no problem.  And Wifi works, too.  Just no mobile data. 😞

Yes the renewal date will keep advancing up until it comes back around in about 5 1/2 years.

Everything else works in the phone - talk/text?

Maybe try the lost/stolen feature.
Log in to self-serve. Plan & Add-Ons from top menu. Lost/Stolen Phone from next menu. Suspend Service button. Log out. Wait a few minutes. Log back in and back to Lost/Stolen Phone and Resume Service this time. Log out. Restart phone.
See what happens.

Does your account show active or suspended? Do you have AutoPay setup.

Which plan are you on? Look further down your overview page and see if you see any mention of data in the data & add-ons section. If you don't see a line about data then it would appear you've used it all.

Was April 13 your plan renewal date by any chance? Is your plan data only or do you have talk and text included?
