You will want to purchase the $5/500 min Canada wide calling add on available on the plan and add ons section in his self serve account. This is a one time purchase that does not expire rather it rolls over every 30 days until fully consumed. At renewal when the 100 outgoing minutes counter resets the add on will remain untouched until such time that the 100 outgoing plan minutes are used then the account will automatically switch to using the minutes in the $5/500 min add on until the plan renews once again.
While you are in the self serve account I suggest you also go to the usage section and use the little round refresh arrow thingy at the bottom right of the usage section. Then view the usage by setting the filter for 30 days. You can then download the past 30 days of usage. Repeat this process 30 days from now and keep these records in case you need to contact customer support due to a recently detected glitch (around March 26th) with the $15 plan.
It's been noted that incoming calls forwarded to voicemail are consuming outgoing minutes if these add up considerably you may want to contact customer support to have either outgoing plan minutes or the Canada wide add on minutes replenished. You can check in to the community to see when this issue is resolved so that you can then account for incorrectly metered minutes used in your son's account and as for their compensation.
