Majority of phone calls say "private number"

Hi everyone! So I've noticed that starting sometime in the last year, a lot of numbers are appearing on my caller ID as "private number". It seems to be random, applying to several businesses I'm working with, and even my parents' landline. This change seems to coincide with me getting a new phone, the RealMe GT2 Pro.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? Is it a RealMe issue or a Public Mobile issue? Any direction would be great. Thanks!

Hi @EricVon

I myself have noticed a HUGE uptick in blocked names and numbers not showing up. This is just my thoughts as I do block my cell number when I work remote and have to call customers.  A lot of people work from home and need to block their numbers. But your parents number not showing up? Surely they are on your contact list? If so and it's not showing up, that is some odd stuff. Let me know what else you think.

If you want to see caller's name and number add them to your address book (native phone's app).

Then it is possible that callers bloc their number or their systems just do not provide that info.

@EricVon - in order to see the name of the person that is calling you, you need to enter them into your contact list. Caller id is not included with public, but if you add them in your device this should prevent the private name/number issue.

But are these contacts in your contact list already, such as your parents' landline? If so, try removing their contact info. and readding it.

If still issues, try Settings > Search 'Reset network settings' > Reset network settings. realme UI R Edition & Go Edition: Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.
