I started a 4g plan in Jan 2024 with a Huawei P40. Physical SIM installed and registered flawlessly. I recently acquired an S21 Ultra running Android 14 in excellent condition and swapped the PM SIM over to the S21 Ultra. It seemed to be a smooth transition until I discovered the data network transfer rate barely breaks 1Mbps download and drops network connection occasionally despite having signal strength within 3 to 5 bar range. Every 2nd or 3rd phone restart also results in blocked connection. Phone worked well on Rogers network before swapping to PM so I don't suspect hardware issue. I've tried resetting APN to default, later resetting network settings, and finally did a factory reset to reduce chance of software issues; all with the requisite reboots. No improvement. I've tried several APN values suggested by members of PM Community postings from 2021/2022 and PM Help Files without success. LastIy, I tried settings listed for this model phone on "APN.how" specifically for PM network. Again, no joy. I suspect that in addition to getting the correct APN I may need a network reset for the SIM too. I tried another SIM also on PM network but same problem. Can anyone help me with this?

Unfortunately the problem is within the phone. Had exceptional help from CS-Agent team over several days and clearly ruled out any network or SIM related problems. The phone is the Canadian model and should meet all specs for compatibility with PM. No issues with call and SMS. Phone appears to be stuck in 3g mode (and super slow even for that mode) either due to an Android 14/UI 6.0 incompatibility, or a hardware modem/rf failure. I'll be contacting Samsung support to further troubleshoot if repair cost doesn't compete with price of a new phone. Big thanks to everyone who offered assistance!

Rogers... agreed! I chose to go at it softly first, reserving the factory reset as last chance. I couldn't edit the APN initially created when SIM was first installed in the S21 Ultra but discovered that adding new ones kind of displaced them. What I found interesting was the 4G network icon displayed consistently in the status bar with every change, as selected, but results from two different network speed test/analysis apps listed the monitored network proto as 3G which was quite generous for the abysmal performance. Unfortunately the factory reset accomplished a few hours of manual file transfers between phones through PC. Huawei doesn't give up the content nearly as easily as it collects it.

I assume you didn't do a factory reset before you started with PM therefore if it was on Rogers then you swapped, yes, I'd suggest you do a Network Reset then reboot. Personally, I would have done a factory reset to get the Rogers stank off my phone. LOL
