I have a $40 plan without any add ons. I don't know if I can call the US toll free numbers or just call and be charged additionally on my bill. I thought it said I could text so don't understand if I can't call. Just totally confused. I just went from the $27 plan to a 40 dollar plan because my phone was saying I was over using gb. Chatbot gives me no clear answer?? Yours truly, Dana.

I believe the $27 plan is Canada wide and the $40 plan is Canada/USA/Mexico but login to your account to confirm which plan you have.
If it is the Canada/USA/Mexico plan. Try add 1 in front of the USA number.

go ahead and dial the number. You won't be billed later. If your plan includes Canada/US calling, it should work.
adding..
Public Mobile is a pre-paid service. As such, you pay up front for 30 days of service. If you have a strictly Canada plan, you won't be able to dial most US 800 numbers..but if it does successfully connect, you won't be billed later.
If you have a $40 Canada / US plan, you can dial most any number in Canada or US.
You'll never get a bill for something that you didn't already pay for. No data overages. No long distance charges...nada.

Hi Dana,
If it's a toll free number, it's still free to call. If it's not a toll free number and it's in the US, you can buy a US calling addon if you choose. But still, toll free is still toll free. Won't cost you anything.
There have been issues lately with Public Mobile about calling toll free numbers like 800 numbers. That might be an issue you can come upon.
