Already have an existing account, trying to add another phone but new account keeps reverting to my existing with a new email address

is the other account with the other email to login already set?  did you try access the new account using the app on another phone? Or at least try using another browser.

You have to set up a new account for every new phone number using a different email address. 

EDIT: I now realize that you already knew this. As Yummy said, clear cache or use incognito mode.

Clear cache, use incognito mode, use computer.

I assume you created brand new account using new email, got new sim, etc.? So now you have two accounts, correct?
