Hi Community,
Thank you for the positive comments on the new phone compatibility checker. As you may know, we partnered with willmyphonework.net and utilize its extensive catalog of mobile devices. With that said, you’ve highlighted to us that there are devices that are not captured still, and we want to keep track of that here to provide feedback on a regular basis.
Please comment below your phone make and model that wasn’t found on our checker and we’ll be sharing on a monthly basis back to our partners.
Thanks,
Public Mobile Community Team

@Bekwilde based on specs (https://www.gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_xz1-8804.php), both the single and dual SIM variants are compatible. All variants appear to be good choices for use wth PM.

@TiboIET A10e is good to go. https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_a10e-9790.php. All variants seem to feature both 850MHz and 1900MHz 3G frequencies. Good choice, enjoy!

@Lobsterwalsh the X6 for the China market (https://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_6_1_plus_(nokia_x6)-9178.php#x6) has both 850MHz and 1900MHz and is compatible; The 6.1Plus for the global market (https://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_6_1_plus_(nokia_x6)-9178.php#61-plus) only has 850MHz and is a poor choice for use with Public Mobile.

@LawrenceDyck your model (https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_j2_core-9255.php) has the same issue as I just described for the Honor 8x (https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Phones-Hardware/List-of-missing-devices-from-Compatib...). The J260M/DS would give you better results as it features both 850MHz and 1900MHz 3S HSDPA

@alexxey1383 you've misunderstood how the list works: It's not that adding a device to the list makes it compatible; it's that the list will let you know whether or not the device is compatible. Compatibility is based on how the device was built, not on something Public Mobile can change. Your device in particular (https://www.gsmarena.com/honor_8x-9313.php) is only partially compatible with the basic 3G (UMTS/W-CDMA/HSDPA) frequenies required. PM runs on both 850MHz and 1900MHz 3G, while your phone only features the former of those two and not the latter. This means it may work in some areas but not in others. It's a poor choice for use on Public Mobile, Koodo, Telus, Virgin, Lucky, and Bell. You can use it on the Rogers network (Rogers, Fido, or Chatr) but only until the end of this year, when Rogers will shut down their 2G GSM network.

Can you tell me if this phone is compatible? I currently use it on Telus network with no issues.
Thanks!

Since the M373B variant supports UMTS bands 2 and 5 (1900 and 850), it is compatible with Public Mobile.

I cannot receive calls and texts. As I understand, this phone is not added to the list of compatible devices? I toped up for 1 usd, as you mentioned, this does not help. I chated with SIMon, checked and updated APN settings. What else I can do?

@alexxey1383 Can you receive calls and texts ? Your SIM may not have provisioned coorectly . You can try adding $1 to your self service/my account . If this doesn't work, contact a moderator and explain your situation . Click on the green questionmark in the white circle at the bottom right of your screen . This connects to the autobot Simon. Type moderator and follow the prompts to get to one. (CLICK on account specific question and human and submit a ticket)

It should work. The JSN-L23 is U.S. variant of the Honor 8x. If the the information that I am seeing is correct, it does have both UMTS 850 and 1900MHz capability, as well as a relatively good range of available LTE bands.

@RajniaroraYour phone is only marginally supported because it only have 1 radio band that is compatible with Telus/ Bell band 5. It would work but probably badly in crowded surroundings.
Also make sure you have configured your APN correctly. The update setting can be found chatting with SIMon via clicking on the lower right hand corner

@Selenako wrote:Huawei Mate 20 Pro
@Selenako there are a lot of variants of the Mate 20 Pro (https://www.phonemore.com/models/huawei/mate-20-pro/) so it's hard to say 100% but I believe the variant(s) sold in Canada will be 100% compatible, and any sold for Latin America should be as well. Phones for other regions or global versions *should* be fine for talk, text, and HSPA+ (3G) data, and may or may not provide good LTE coverage.

@BedroomPinky420 If this spec sheet is correct https://www.lg.com/ca_en/support/products/documents/F4NR%20-%20LGA448%20Spec%20Sheet_EN.pdf then this phone is not compatible with Public Mobile. It will work with Rogers/Fido/Chatr until they shut down their GSM network at the end of 2020, or it will work with Freedom Mobile which is the only Canadian provider that uses the AWS 3G frequency pair (1700MHz + 2100MHz).
