The Koodo email reads:
"On February 13, 2020, an unauthorized third party using compromised credentials accessed our systems and copied August/September 2017 data that included your mobility account number and telephone number. It is possible that the information exposed has changed since 2017, in which case your current information is not compromised.”
We had a few reported on this forum about sim jacking fraud.

Everyone should have strong password for online login.
We are told to not using the same password for all our online accounts and change password frequently. I am wondering how many are following these advises!

It seems to me that PM is operationally just a branded Telus department, likely to implement whatever administrative and security systems/procedures are established by Telus. PM's accounts and billing systems are obvious bolt-ons to Telus.
Koodo is a more of a Telus subsidiary, probably with some independent (redundant) systems and independent (redundant) vulnerabilities.

@popping Koodo needs to cover their butts, because any negative media could mean loss of customers to other players in the game to Rogers, Bell or Virgin.

Quote from the link "To prevent this we have applied port protection on your account. Port protection is a feature that prevents the porting of your number to another carrier unless you call us first. If you’d like to have this feature removed, please contact us.”
I'd like to know what PM intends to do to protect us more from fraud porting.

I wonder what Koodo's password was?

Very odd - hacked the system in Feb. 2020, but copied data from Aug./Sept. 2017...... probably still got plenty of useful info, but odd nonetheless. 🤔 And yeah, given the recent mentions of SIM jacking around here, MAYBE that's where it originated from. 👎

Thanks for sharing
That's pretty bad, those who switched have different account number, but I bet most people use the same. There's so many accounts and impossible to keep track of aaaaall of it
