Hey, I have been having problems calling the new 437 area code phones (Toronto). Its saying I need long distance add on to call it. I know other people in the past also had similar issue. I just want to know when will Public Mobile address this issue?

@entertainer, if you are always putting +1 in front of your numbers, try without. The calling system here seems to have a few gremlins like all things. When I first joined this service, I got the same message calling toll free numbers. Anyway, that went away on its own. More recently, I had issues with calling the UK (I do have long distance minutes). That problem went away as well. I suspect the issues could come back.

@entertainer have you messaged the moderator team as suggested above and asked them to look into it?

Hey, thanks for the suggestion but I always save my number with +1. When I call the number it says "you don't have active long distance add-on". So most probably a network issue.

Did it actually tell you it could not be connected, or did it say long distance charges may apply? I ask, because many subscribers do not listen correctly to the message, as on message Hangs up, and the second will complete.
if it’s the long distance charges may apply, dial with +1 in front of the number. If it’s doesnt complete, contact the moderator team telling them which specific phone number you’re attempting to call, and include your account number and telephone number also.
I hope this helps!

Very well could be a network issue. People have posted about these area code issues in Ontario a few times over the last few weeks. If the mods know about you having the issue, they can hopefully make the necessary adjustment on their end or address the larger issue.
Make sure to include both your Dad's and your account number in the private message so they can review both.
EDIT: @Mana, putting the 1 infront may address the issue but could inadvertantly allow the system to use any available long-distance minutes @entertainer has, which wouldn't be ideal.

@entertainer when you dial the number, can you please try putting a 1 in front of the number and see if it works?
Thanks

Ok I will do that. And just to further explain, I am not the only one having this issue. I tried the number on my Dad's phone (who also has Public Mobile) and wasn't working for him either. So probably a network wide issue.

This is an issue with some accounts that creeps up from time to time. The moderators can look at your account to address the issue. Send them a private message using this link: @CS_Agent, provide them with your name, account number and an explanation of the issue and they will be able to look into the matter for you.
