Issue Porting number

I have issue porting my old number. I can make a call to someone but can't receive any calls. My old phone from WindMobile is still active.

I change my number today  using public mobile website because my wife needs to get a hold of me. I need my old number to get ported.  Can anybody help me please!!!!

I got the same failed message. I tried couple times before it worked.

Glad to hear that your porting issue was resoved by creating a new number and then porting over lijbucs20 but I am going to wait for the admins to respond as I don't want to risk losing my old number. 

 

Update: I can only receive and send texts to people on the Telus network apparently. Still no incoming calls at all.

I have tried this.

 

successfully changed my number to new number. However, transfer is not working.

 

I entered:

Phone number: (Number to be transfered)

click on  I am authorized to transfer 

click Check Eligibility

 

Success!

 

now enter the following:

 

Old Account #: (as it shows on my invoice but without hyphens "-")

Alternate Phone: (I enter the contact number under my rogers account, not the number I am transfering)

Authorization Name: (My full name as it appears on my Rogers account)

 

Result: 

"We are experiencing difficulties in processing this request. Please contact Public Mobile for additional assistance."

 

Fail!

 

waiting for response from PM. I've sent pm to mods and also opened ticket.

I resolved my porting issue.  Yesterday I logged in to public mobile account and changed my number (Public mobile #).  Today I went to my account  and re-ported my number.

 

-> My Public Mobile Account -> Plan and Addons -> Change Phone number -> 'Transfer a wireless or wireline number from Public Mobile or another provider' radio button

Same here. Submitted issue last night through help and got ticket number. Sent pm to a few mods as well. No replies from anyone from public mobile. They took my money no problem though.

Any progress on this porting my Rogers number over (reference #2576-8280)? I still can't receive calls and haven't received any contact from Public Mobile on the issue. It would be great to have this sorted out by the weekend.

Hey ljbucs20,

 

I was with Wind as well, I was on the preauthorized payment program and had an upcoming payment next week.  

 

I paid that off right away from the self serve website and my number was ported minutes afterwards.  Not sure if that was the trick, but it doesn't hurt to try.  I also cancelled my preauthorized payment, just in case they try to take out the money again...

 

Are you on a preauthorized payment plan for Wind?

Since your Wind service is still active, you can continue using it.  All calls will go there when your wife (or anyone else) calls your number.

I'm having the same issue porting my Rogers number over. While signing up last night I was given the "Activation failed. Please contact PM" message but when I turned my phone on it can make outgoing calls but I can't receive any. The Community sign-up confirmation text came through okay from PM though and I created an account which shows that I'm signed up for the plan so it's possibly just the porting that failed. I gave my Account number and not my IMEI details when I signed up as I am planning to change phones soon. Please let me know if I need to do anything on my side @Brooke_Cand the timeline when this will be resolved. #2576-8280 Thanks for you help and customer service on all this.

What information did you give when porting?
e.g. Account number, your name, imei, pin
Need some more info.

It sounds like you number is not completely ported yet.
