When I tried to activate a new number for my student, It did not receive the text code from public mobile, The number I tried to activate is xxxxxxxxx the name of the account is xxxxxxxxxxxxxx. apart from inserting the sim chip, is there anything else I need to do with the iPhone 8 to work with public mobile? So far, I inserted the sim card, power the phone on and off, and still did not receive the confirmation code. Thanks in advance

I know it is possible to get the same confirmation code by other methods; have you tried them? With me this happens very often as I fail to activate the number with my students, so I prefer to use other services such as phaedrus summary as it is much easier for me to give students their homework through this source than trying to activate their phone. The last time I had to listen to Phaedrus, this literature was hard to find, and besides that, here you can find the abridged and audio version, which makes it much easier to investigate this work.

Once you reinitiate the process you should get the porting text almost immediately. Is the other account still in good standing?

@dscheung - do you mean you were porting a number from another provider over to Public Mobile and you did not receive the SMS text on the old provider's SIM card?
Insert the old SIM and see if the text comes in. If after 90 minutes of activation and the text does not come to the old SIM card, then submit a ticket with CSA.

If your are it porting an old number for your student, you don’t need to wait for a text. It should work right away if you picked a new number.
There might be a Telus outage in your area?

HI @dscheung You can remove the phone number and the name from your original post. This is a public forum and you don't want to post here
iPhone 8 will works here without problem. Can you make outgoing calls?
You said you cannot receive confirmation code. Are you talking about those 2FA code from banks or emails? If you are, did you port your number from another provider? If so, those code will usually start working couple days after porting. This delay is for security purpose, in case of SIM fraud

But if you are talking about the text code to create Self-serve My Account, then I think you activated the line in store?
