It is standard definition for all providers, so that is not PMs thing. If you need a plan with included roaming in US, then you'll need to look at some other providers, but not many offer that as part of a plan. Mostly it is extra charge (Roaming), so make sure you pick one that fits your needs.

It IS international texting but only while you are in Canada.
For texting from US you need to buy appropriate add-on

Unlimited U.S. Talk, Text and 250MB Data Bundle = $20
Unlimited U.S. Talk and Text Bundle = $15
Unlimited U.S. Talk Only = $8
Unlimited U.S. Text Only = $8
U.S. Data Only for 10 day packages
250MB = $10
500MB = $15

I would suggest you pickup a local SIM in the USA. There are budget plans from Mint Mobile or Tello Mobile.

@Lmitchell Most provider won't include Roaming in the plan, unless very expensive plans. Carriers try to make big make with roaming charges.
If you are in US a lot, try the VoIP app I mentioned above.
Also for data use, consider getting local prepaid plan. It is cheaper and get you more data

All services have to originate from Canada.
PM offers USA add-ons which you'll have to buy to use your phone. Log into your account and click on Purchase add-ons. They offer only 10 day roaming add-ons and it starts as soon as you buy it. Two steps, add money to account then buy add-on.
Anywhere else in world PM does not offer roaming packages.
You can consider downloading TEXTNOW APP. You get another Canadian number and can call Can/USA numbers for free anywhere in the world with a Wi-Fi connection. You can text, has called I'd and even voicemail when not online. Other person does not need the app to reach you only the number.

@Lmitchell International text is only for you to send text to other countries from Canada
When you are in US and if you need your call or text or data service, you will need to buy one of the roaming add-on.
here is the list of choices you have:
Or you can do it for free via VoIP app, such as TextNow. You will get a new phone number when signup, then you can text and call and receive for free to Canada/US as long as you have Wifi or Mobile Data
