Public Mobile only works in Canada and the United States. The option I recommend is to purchase a SIM card through this service, Local and regional eSIMs for travellers - Airalo and then use an app called TextNow. You can pick a local number to where you live and use that to make calls and text messages back to Canada. Just update your Public Mobile voicemail to state you can be reached at this number for the next "enter time here... 2 weeks" via calls or texts. Good luck and enjoy your vacation.
