Yes, PM international calling has a very small number of countries and Ecuador is not one of them.

Try to buy a calling card from convenience store.  One you can check is Cici

Of course, if you can have your friend/family in Ecuador to use VoIP app like Whatsapp, then call would be free.

Unfortunately, calling Ecuador (using a prepaid calling card or a VoIP service, for instance) does tend to be significantly more expensive than calling other neighbouring countries like Peru or Colombia.
