If all I need is 1G of LTE

People at PM have forgotten to look at the big picture. Less for less, when it's all about more for more, makes holes in your offfering. If I have my phone and want to spend $40/month and all I need is 1G of LTE, I'm better to look elsewhere

Virgin Mobile: 500 minutes + 1 GB + UNLIMITED Evening & Weekends from 5pm to 7am + UNLIMITED SMS&MMS.

KOODO : 500 minutes + 1 GB  Shock-free data + UNLIMITED SMS&MMS.

Too many brands, TELUS!

@gmd sorry but if all you need is 1GB LTE then Fido is a far better choice than any Telus/Bell brands

I would consider Fido, but it does not have coverage where I need it - at the family cottage and the 2,5 hour drive to it for example. Rogers always stop short by a tower (from populated to less-populated areas) compared to Bell (in the East). Makes a huge difference. They claim to have the fastest speed, but they have far less coverage.

Simply compare the maps in Western Québec and in Atlantic Canada.

You can roam on ROGERS-EXT (Bell), though..

If coverage is an issue, then only Bell, telus would work for you.

Maybe wait for public mobile to have promotion for their 3G plan.

I had thought about this. Although not good for new customers, it helps me (although not as good as the other plans I have for my sons - namely one $90 plan, and two $120 plans).

@gmd 90 day prov calling, global texting plus 1 GB data add-on equals $120; less any rewards of course. Plus, if you don't use the add-on it will carry over AND it will be LTE not 3G speed.

Given the referals I have, it would be nice to simply upgrade from the $90-1GB plan.

With the current plans, we're talking an extra $20 for twice what I need.

Not only are you pushing new customers away, churn will go up.

The less for less thing is nothing but another meaningless advertising schtick.  They said, it is difficult for one provider to cover everyone's needs.  Personally, I am not one to use the price match route.  That's penalizing the seller who's offering up the deal.  If something out there is a good fit and well priced, go for it.
