Looking to unlocking an old phone for use on the PM Network

My 2019 iPhone was locked to Bell - they did unlock it just before I joined PM.

HI @Tsawwassen   no active account needed for the unlock service.  Phones sold AFTER 2017 must be unlocked.  

However, OP said his phone was old, if it is before 2017, then carriers are not responsible for providing free unlock service either

I think the original service provider will unlock it free of charge - however I think that you must have an active account with them.

How old is your old phone? I have my old iPhones 6s in great condition - $50 ?

HI @Forsaken   what phone do you have ?  maybe a local mobile shop can unlock it for you with a small charge, probably around $25.  

Or get a cheap CPO phone here, one year warranty, so it is good deal with protection

I don't this is an really old phone i just need as back  up while the main is getting serviced.

if you got it from Fido, only Fido can unlock it for you

You have any receipt to prove Fido?

Fido's Tech said it must be done on the with service provider. I thought it strange and incorrect myself....

You will have to contact previous provider for unlock code. PM cannot help you with this task.

Or contact phone's manufacturer.
