Phones these days can have a locator app that will be more useful for what you want to do. I am not a iOS user so can't help there. For android devices, if you have find my device installed on the phone, you would be able to locate it quite precisely.
The data is granular enough to locate an active phone within a few meters, lol, with even greater precision if multiple overlapping signals can be triangulated, GPS or WiFi is active, etc.
The barriers for operators and for consumers are not technical, they're legal. The network or an agency (like the police) could access the logs, figure out where the phone was last active, see where it's active now. But they won't do it without very good reason (the sort of reason which would compel a signed court warrant). Tracking a known criminal, locating an abducted victim, rescuing a missing hiker, or responding to a 911 emergency would likely be good enough reasons. Finding another lost (or stolen) phone is not.
"Find my iPhone" is a wonderful app for this purpose. But the downside is that it has to be enabled before the device is lost, and many people don't know they should activate it manually or they specifically don't want it actively tracking their phone's locations and movements all the time (only when they can't find their lost phones, of course).
The proper thing to do is to login Self-Serve and click the "Report Lost or Stolen Phone" button. This immediately disables non-Emergency access to the network. Also change your Self-Serve password - change every password for every login you ever used on the device - damage control just in case it was indeed found or stolen by someone opportunistic. If a new "owner" of your device has access to your phone number, emails, logins, social media, banking, etc - and changes the passwords before you do - then things can become very problematic for you.

Mobile providers will utilize local cell towers to determine (narrow) the location of a device which is being used on the network. (i.e. receiving/sending information via the cell tower).
However, good luck getting support from them to do this without law enforcement involvement.

@esjliv Carrier certainly has your location all the time but none of those would track it at your request, unless requested by law enforcement 🙂
But to be honest, they should provide this service. .$5 or $10 a month.. I bet some people would pay.. or people might pay this service to track their partner's location.. lol

Sorry to know you lost your phone, however keep in mind that cellphone carriers DO NOT track your cellphone locations, you can still do that through Google if you had an android or Apple if you had an Iphone and of course if the phone location is on, if you have data on your plan and mobile data is on (on your cellphone) and if you previously sing in on your Google or Apple account and keep that option active.

duplicated post..
PM won't be able to track where your phone is. In fact, no carrier has this service.
you best bet for this is to use the different FindMyPhone services available depends on the type of your phone :
Apple: https://www.apple.com/ca/icloud/find-my/
Google: https://myaccount.google.com/find-your-phone
Samsung: https://findmymobile.samsung.com/
try it fast before someone got your phone and turn it off

So far nothing.
@Sienna123 - you created another thread about losing your phone.
We are all customers and members like you here on the forum. We have no access to your account.
Customer Support Agents (CSA) can be contacted by these two methods: https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/on/get-help/articles/contact-an-agent
but, I am not sure they can help you here.
Is there a screen lock on your device?
If not, have you tried logging into you self serve account and see if there is any usage text/call/data being done on your phone? Go to View My Usage to see this...detailed data usage is delayed about 6-12 hours.

@Sienna123 - I don't believe Public Mobile will be able to track your phone, unless there is some legal reason to do so.
Have you tried calling or texting it ?
Do you have any location options with google find my device, or through Apple (if iphone).
If you do have an account like this, you may be able to send a message to the phone with how to reach you.
If you get to the point you would like to list your phone lost/stolen so service cannot be used or accessed see this article on how to do this.
This also includes how to swap your sim card if you need to obtain a new phone and have the information transferred to a new sim card.

@Sienna123 , I responded to your earlier thread. This service has no call center support. If you do need to contact support, click on the chat symbol on the lower right corner of the webpage and initiate a support ticket. As already mentioned, the CSAs are not likely to offer much help to locate your phone.
