I can't receive or make phone calls. Also can't receive voicemail. My text messaging is working. What is going on?

I was with PM for four years. Telus, or whomever, decided that this was a good business decision. They made people lose the use of their phones. My mom actually got a call from their customer support staff who advised them to get a new phone or get a new company. Wow. Just wow.

I've been on public mobile for five years or something. I've made no changes, data and texting work. It's the exact same problem describe by the other users.
I have a Note 9 and a Galaxy 9 neither receive or make calls but texting and data work normally.

did you just join Public Mobile and requested porting your phone number?
can you make calls? data works?
and what phones you have?

I'm having this exact same issue for myself and my Wife. Any tips for communicating the problem to PM efficiently?

Hi Ginger. Yes! It looks like PM has fixed the issues and everyone should be back to normal. Thank you PM. I was so upset when it stopped working.

Good morning, I have good news. My phone works again! I just tried making an outgoing call, and checked my voicemail; both were successful! Yesterday I reached out to Public Mobile (PM) about the issue . However, I didn't actually get confirmation saying it was resolved; it was fixed before I had responded to their message. I'm wondering if the issue was due to Telus installing new fibre optics in my area? Does this makes sense? I have sent another message to PM asking.

I encountered the same issue. I checked and changed my phone settings several times; and could not resolve the issue.

Thank you for your help! I appreciate you being proactive with finding a solution to this problem . So frustrating for those of us going through this. We should all be asking PM to look in to this.

I'm having exactly the same issues as you. Texting and data works. Don't bother switching your SIM card, or restarting your phone. All of the troubleshooting in the world won't work. It's the new update with VolTe that has made my older phone stop working as a phone. I have to have people emailing and texting me in order to communicate. It's a really unfortunate change and I am asking PM to look into the issue.
