After reading lots of Posts I am a little worried to proceed without better instructions.
I am old school so I want nothing to do with an e-sim. I am in the activation process step 2 I think it was where I have the plan and a physical sim card selected. Now it wants my credit card info to continue. I need to know the next steps please.
Once I pay it will take some days to receive the Sim card by courier I expect as per our postal strike. So once I have the sim card in hand what are the next steps? I prefer to use my laptop for everything if possible instead of the App? At what point do I transfer my number from Koodo so there are no screw ups?

hi @Redrooster after you replied yes, better to put the PM sim card in the phone. At this points your PM sim should be able to make outbound calls but might not be able to receive inbound calls. No worries, this just mean porting not done yet. Just reboot phone an hour later and test inbound again and it should work

@Redrooster Yes or just wait until the Koodo sim stops working then put the PM SIM card in the phone and reboot the device . assuming this is Koodo post paid , if Koodo pre paid you would first need to pick temp PM phone number then very support to transfer the number for

Handy1 I was just re reading your earlier reply. "And Just download the PM app and follow the prompts leaving old providers SIM card in phone to reply YES to the confirmation text to port".
So I use the App to Port the number while leaving Koodo Sim card in the phone right? Then once I reply to the text message from Koodo to Port then what about the PM Sim I will have in my hand? Would I put that into my phone after I replied Yes to confirm to Port and at that point would it automatically have my number from Koodo on it?

hi @Redrooster you need app to complete the subscription. But you only need to use the app once to complete the subscription if you rather go back to browser after
but if you really dont want to use the app, you can ask support to help when you receive the sim. (and Pm will arrange other courier during the strike). You can submit by direct messageto agent:

Support will reply via Community inbox here within 2 to 4 hours:

Thanks for the Help Handy1. There is no where within 200 km where I live to buy a Sim card. We have a store close but they only have the popular sim cards and not PM.

@Redroosterg faster to just pick SIM card up at Telus /koodo store or order from Amazon$4.99 there right now
Find SIM card Find a store near to you | Public Mobile
Amazon
And Just download the PM app and follow the prompts leaving old providers SIM card in phone to reply YES to the confirmation text to port . You will have opportunity to transfer the number after you make payment . And just use the old providers account number and ignore the IMEI . Once you have successfully ported number to PM is will automatically close your old providers account for you . That’s it if you run into any issues come back here and the community will advise what to do next
adding @Redrooster it can take as many as 3 weeks for sim to arrive from PM but with strike PM is sending by other means so might be faster then usuall but it’s good to have spare sim card on hand anyways in case you lose or damage yours or to give to family or friend to joint PM and use your refferal code to save you both $
