How does the 500 Canada wide add on work when you run out of min?

First I just want to say that it is REALLY not evident where to go to post a new question as there are no "New Post" and I asked in the chat box and even google, and all responses just lead me to browse the community...Even though I have an account...this is my second time needing to use this....

OK, I have the $15 dollar plan that gives 100 outgoing unlimited text, and unlimitd incoming.  Yesterday I bought the 5 dollar add on because I had only 87 min left for outgoing...now I have 10 min left for outgoing but my plan is active until Oct 10... When I use up my 100 min, will my canada wide add on kick in? Does it still allow unlimited incoming since my plan is good for another 2 weeks?  Do I still have unlimited text?  Just want to know what will happen when you run out of voice minutes and I have my add on? What would happen if I didn't have the addon? Would people still be able to call me?

Thanks

It’s actually a great add on of 500 minutes for only $5 that never expires and is in your account if you need it. I have a limited talk time of 100 minutes and was always worried about running out before the end of the month.  If I find I’m going over too often I will switch up to,an unlimited talk plan.

Even the 400 minutes international long distance add-on will be used for local calls if that's all you have left when using the $15 plan.

Thanks for your help it is all straightened out now🙏

@Langlois

When you are on a limited calling plan like the $15 plan where you are limited to 100 outgoing minutes, once those are used up your add on of 500 minutes will begin. Whatever add on is not consumed will continue to be rolled over each month ( except US add on).

Purchasing an add on is a 2 step process. You added the funds now you need to make the purchase. Here is a HDI:

You can check your billing history in self service and see if you were overcharged. If you were contact a moderator for assistance using this link:

Edit: With the add on below you can call anywhere in Canada as long as you are making the call in Canada.

I am wondering the same thing, it is very unclear when purchasing the $5 add on for 500 mins Canada wide long distance which I presume includes local calls although it doesn’t state this.

I just purchased it to see what would happen and was charged double ($10 plus tax).

When I go to my account page it just shows available funds at the top of my statement as $5.00 not the $10. I was charged. Nothing is noted under the add on heading saying I have the extra 500 mins of talk I thought I purchased. It looks like the $5.00 will be applied to my next bill payment.

maybe it takes time to show up correctly but I’m confused and annoyed at being double charged.

@SillySu

Correct, once you used up your outgoing minutes, your talk add on will kick in.  You will still have unlimited incoming.  It will not affect your text.

 If you don't have the add on and run out of minutes, you will not be able to call out.  Incoming calls should be fine.
