Hi Everyone,
For the $15 prepaid plan, if you use up all your 250mb of data, do you still continue to get data coverage but at a capped slower speed? Or do you need to buy something extra (add-on) to be able to get data coverage until the end of the month. Thanks.

@Fretman There is also a 500 Canada wide minute add-on for $5 that also never expires and only kicks in when needed.

You might want to look at Lucky mobile. As with them once you reach your data limit you get unlimited throttle data ( 128 Kbps) for remainder of the 30 day period. Unfortunately Public Mobile does not offer this.
@Jb456, thanks. That is interesting regarding Lucky Mobile. I looked at them first but decided to look at PM as well because I thought LM did not offer that unlimited throttling option.

@Fretman You data just stops working. Your choices when that happens are:
- Purchase a data add-on (never exipres until used up)
- Change to another plan with more data (via selfserve)
- Renew you current plan early (requires moderator's help)
@geopublicthanks for the info. I'll take a look at the add-on option that never expires. That sounds interesting. I rarely use data on my phone so it could be a good option.

Yes, BUT with Lucky's $15 plan, the 100 mins. of calls you have are BOTH outgoing & incoming, as opposed to the unlimited incoming calls here..... guess it comes down to which is more important - phone calls or data......

@CannonFodder, thanks. I believe that is the case. I know there are some carriers like Freedom that will allow you to continue using data but at a capped lower speed. I guess PM does not offer that.

No data coverage once it's used up; same for the 100 minutes outgoing calls. Running out of data will not stop MMS/picture messaging.
So, you are correct and a data add-on would be needed for additional data coverage. BUT because the data add-on are expensive, it's usually better to buy a "better" plan, or renew your current plan with moderator assistance, early.
