Remove your SIM card and place it in another phone. Make a phone call. Reinsert it your phone. Test. If you have a dual SIM phone you can do the same thing with the second SIM slot.

Public Mobile Representatives customer support agents (CSA) can be contacted by either two methods, found here:

https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/on/get-help/articles/contact-an-agent

But, I think members here can assist with some things to try to help you.

Is this a new problem or recently an issue?

I will start with trying:

  • restart your phone
  • perform a reset of your network setting
  • try your sIM into another phone to see if the issue persists

OR, if you have an iphone and if you turn your data off occasionally, then it is recommended to turn off iMessage altogether and use regular text messaging instead.

To do this, go to Settings > Messages and toggle iMessage off.

If you prefer to use iMessage, then you can perform the following steps to fix the issue:

  1. Connect to the internet using WiFi or Data.
  2. Go to Settings > Messages and toggle iMessage OFF.
  3. Turn your iPhone off completely, then turn it back on.
  4. Go back into Settings > Messages and toggle iMessage ON.
  5. Make sure “Send as SMS” is also turned ON.

IF you have an android, do you have your Chat Features enabled...or does the person sending you messages have that feature on?

Chat features needs wifi or data to work, so I would suggest to turn this feature off.

Disable your Chat Features:

  1. Open Messages
  2. Tap More options > Settings > Chat features
  3. Turn Enable chat features off
