If the phone is locked to the Telus/Koodo network you are ok. If it is an unlocked phone then you are 99% ok but as stated if it is from out of country you then need to check to see what bands it supports

There are different models of iPhone 6.
For example: an Asia model might have issue in America. An America model might have issue in HongKong.
You may check your phone with model number on this site to see network compatibility.

That's interesting. My phone is unlocked iPhone 6 plus (bought from Apple store).
Mine said my phone is fine when during my activation.
I will note that and give suggestions to others not to rely on IMEI checker. 🙂

FWIW I tried the IMEI checker and it told me that my unlocked iPhone 6S would NOT work with PM. Obvioulsy this was wrong as it has been working fine for nearly a week now. Just a heads up that the IMEI checker seems to be yet another thing not working right.

it should work because PM uses telus network. put your sim inside the phone and try rebooting it
