Hotspot connection issue

I have a new public mobile Canada-US plan on my iPhone.
When I enable the hotspot on the iPhone and connect another phone, the hotspot doesn't connect to the internet.

I used to be use the hotspot with no problem on the same iPhone when I was on Bell.

Could someone help?

Hi all, 

I found the solution.  Apparently the VPN (Google One VPN) that I was running on my iPhone was culprit.
When I disabled the VPN, the hotspot connection started working fine!

Did you go to settings, general, about to see if any updates happened?
Or settings, cellular, cellular data network - then tap Reset Settings.
And of course a full power down restart.

@GlennC   Does the same thing happen when the phone is on wifi or is it just when using cellular?

@Hai   Thanks for helping.
It's not the android issue.  I have the same connection issue when I try to connect my Mac laptop or my Tesla to the hotspot.  All these used to work fine before I got the Public Mobile esim yesterday.

Sounds like all is ok on the iphone end...call the customer support for the android to see if they have some suggestions.

Yup.  Allow Others to Join is enabled.

in the settings / Personal Hotspot / ...make sure to enable Allow Others to Join.

When I try to connect my wife's Android phone to my iPhone's hotspot, it fails connecting, saying "Couldn't get IP address"
