Help. I get 404 server error msg halfway through activation

Hi all, happy new year. Looking for some guidance here.

I went through the following steps:

- entered the PM sim card #,

- entered all my info

- chose a new telephone number

- chose $25 plan 

- chose holiday deal add-ons

THEN when i pressed submit, it brought me to a page saying 

"Server Error. 404 - File or directory not found" 

The resource you're looking for might have been removed, had it's name changed or is temporarily unavailable. 

 

I went back to start all over again with activation, and it went as far as choosing a new phone number, then the 404 appears again .....

 

Trying to start the activation a 3rd time, but now it says this sim # is currently reserved in another session. Pls try again in 50 minutes ...... 

 

What should I do? DId i succeed in my activation the 1st time?

Only emergency calling nithins else

If I put in the sim card I only get emergency call nothing else

I made it as far as activation of sim and the plan to port number then receive that error no complaints 

@James84022 if you put the sim in the phone, does it connect? can you make outgoing call??

I activate a sim and payed for my plan when I went to transfer my number I got a error code and that's all it does no and still now today same error 

@James84022- This is an old thread you found. With the way this new system has affected so many people, I suggest you contact support.

Still having a error apon activation. Won't let me complete transaction I payed for my servesses already still nothing

I had a slightly different symptom back when I was activating my SIM (said my SIM # was invalid)... and my answer was to not use a chromium based browser.  In my case, using IE brought success, but I imagine FireFox might have also worked.

I know our symptoms are different, but it might be worth trying IE (or FF) just to rule out browser issues.

I also got a 404 error during activation today and when I used the webchat option, the live agent told me to clear cache/cookies of my browser before trying again (the error happened after the payment card screen for me).

 

Refreshed the browser for publicmobile.ca and retried the activation with success - a side note that the number I previously intended to activate as New was no longer listed the 2nd time around so I wonder if that somehow helped trigger the 404 doom.  It was actually handy that it failed the first time because I forgot to input the referral code until the 2nd time.

 

Hope you're able to sort it out and I lucked out around 1:30pm ET with only waiting 15min for chat (3 people ahead of me at the time).

@chanys  If you opt to try again online, rather than using the chat facility suggested by @Jb456 , open an incognito/private browsing tab.

I did not reach the payment section to enter my credit card info yet. 

So i guess in this case, I will have to wait ...... 

 

I'm hoping system isn't getting toooo busy the later i wait.

Kinda my fault that i waited till last minute XD

Did you pass the payment section? 

 

If yes check if your card was charged.

 

If it was charged put your sim card in your phone it will likely work.

 

If it does work and you were charged go to link below to create your self serve account.

If you were not charged. System locks sim for 50 minutes. Wait one hour, clear internet cookie/history cache open a fresh browser in incognito mode and try again.

 

Don't forget a referral code for a $10 sign up bonus. If you used one and were charged and service works the credit will be applied within 72 hours.
