Got number from Nova Scotia, can I make calls without extra charge in Ontario? @Moderator_Team

Dear Team,

I got one public mobile phone number in Nova Scotia, and I moved to Ontario now. My current plan is $40 per 30 days, which has "Unlimited Canada-wide Talk".

I am wondering if I could still use the current plan in Ontario without any extra charge, such as long distance charge when I make calls?

Looking forward to your reply.

Thank you.

Even if your plan only had provincial calling, you could still use your phone in Ontario to make calls (to Ontario phone numbers).  But yes, I'll further confirm that with Canada-wide, it doesn't matter which province you are in when trying to to make a call.

As already mentioned, you can make and recieve calls anywhere in Canada for the same price with the Canada wide plan.  As a fellow Nova Scotian,  I would find it understandable in you not wanting to get rid of your Nova Scotia number to make it easier on you friends in Nova Scotia.  However, I also see the use in having an Ontario number also.  I do believe I have a solution.

Get a Fongo or Fongo Works account.  It is a free app for Android or iphone.   You can get an Ontario number, and then forward that number to your Public Mobile number.  2 phone numbers, 1 phone.  No extra cost.

If your plan includes "Canada-Wide" calling, then you can make calls in Ontario without incurring any extra charges.

Do note that you can change your number to a local Ontario area code number to avoid others in Ontario getting charged long distance when calling your Nova Scotia number.
