I tried to go through the activate SIM process few times (each time failing with generic error asking to try login again). However, it never even created my account so I had to start from step 1. Finally it went further in steps and I was able to select the # needed porting (from Fido), pick the plan and added the credit card info, etc AND as it was processing this step came back with the same generic error (still account not created). I tried going through step 1 again and now I'm keep getting 'invalid SIM' error on step 1.
I read some forum discussions and tried clearing browser and tried different browser (chrome/FF) still no luck. I sent an email to MOD mailbox and they didn't get back to me for 5+ hours now.
The # is still active with Fido do looks like porting didn't happen. Any advise?

That was not my intent. Have your one phone still operating on your old service waiting for the port. When it stops working then switch SIM's and now you're on the new service.

Or you can keep using your old SIM until it stops working. At which time then it's done and you can use the new SIM.

Thanks for the hint:). I couldn't login using the email so I requested to send me the validation code using text. I went through the rest of the profile setup and all seems good now.

Did you get it sorted?

Yeah, the promo has nothing to do with the number, just new customer!

@Scorpi wrote:Thanks. When you said setup here first, you mean setup with a random# and port later? I've did all my steps yesterday before 11PM...and I gave up when I got the SIM invalid error...I tried it this morning again with different browsers. I'll give it a try again in 1 hr.
I do believe he meant to activate and set up the account then when you have confirmed everything is working properly login to your self serve and port the number.
Yes. I was just repeating the preferred strategy that people mention here. Just get Public Mobile up and running on your phone and the service is working and THEN bring your prior number over. That way too, you still have service until you start the porting process. And even then it'll still work on the old service until it's actually fully ported.

Just start with setting up here first. Once all good then port the number over.
Now you should probably wait a while like has been suggested elesewhere for it to release the SIM activation attempt.
Someone in another post just said they waited 50 mins and then it worked.
