Hello, I would like to ask if my phone number is being used by someone else. Recently I have got a call saying that the calls were being made by showing my cell phone number as a caller ID. Could you check that for me? Or how could you help me out to solve this? Just this. Thanks

This happened to me when I was a Telus customer. It is just one of those annoyances that you can’t do anything about.

this is Caller ID spoofing. You can find more information here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caller_ID_spoofing
Honest, there is nothing much you can do. It is just scammers way of fooling people thinking it is a normal number calling (not those annoying 1-800 telemarketers) and will pickup the phone. The target is not really you (the number they spoofed). In reality, it has no harm to you. You cannot really do much, just like letter mail, people can randomly put in any address as the return address and you cannot stop it.

There is no solution for your problem. Spammers and telemarketers are spoofing - faking your number to look like it is local number so people would answer their call.

Your number was spoofed by a scammer. It should not last more than a week. Any one calling you....just tell them it was not you and your number was spoofed. It is very easy to do (spoofing that is).
