Ending my plan with public

I pay my bill on the 21st of each month. I’ve decided to go with another company. How and when can I end my service with public?

@parkay123  In addition, make sure to port out your number to the new provider a few days before your PM plan expires as the account needs to be still active for the number transfer to work. A buffer of a few days allows for possible glitches.  Don't wait until renewal day.

@parkay123 PM is running on 30 days cycle and your plan won't ends on the same day monthly. Please login My Account and confirm your current cycle end date

To "cancel" the plan, you can either port out your number to another provider and your account will be closed upon successful port out of the number

Or you can disable the toggle "Subscribed" to disable Pre-Authorized payment instead.  Once it is disabled, PM will not be able to renew your account on your next renewal , your account will then be suspended on that day and 90 more days, it will be closed

To disable Pre-Authorized payments (Turn off Subscribed) , you can do it by one of the following:

  • If you know the 4 digits account pin, dial *611 from your phone (or 1.855.4PUBLIC from another phone)
enter the account pin, then Press 5 for Autopay and 2 to remove
  •  Login to My Account, go to Payment page, click Manage Subscription, then turn off the Subscribed toggle.
    (or direct link: https://myaccount.publicmobile.ca/en/account/my-payment/manage-subscription)

You can also do the same using the App.  Login the App, go to Subscription page, click Manage Subscription and click Unsucbscribe

Public Mobile does not bill on the same day each month, but to discontinue service, you'll need to disable autopay from within your self serve account.  After being in suspension for 90 days, your account will automatically be closed.  If you port your number to another carier, that immediately closes your Public Mobile acocunt. In either case, be sure to disabled autopay first and also use the chatbot to open a ticket and ask a Public Mobile customer support agent to remove your credit card information from the account (before any number porting attempts if you end up going that route).
