Do you have experience with South American carriers? In Chile and/or Argentina?

@Karen1 recently posted that she is planning to head to Chile and Argentina, with a couple of different iPhone models.  I was wondering if anyone has had experience travelling there and could recommend a carrier to try out for about a month's duration?  Any help would be appreciated.

If she is going to use it a lot while away from wifi it will almost certainly be cheaper to by local SIMs on arrival. For dire emergencies https://personal.iroam.com can be purchased here and use pretty much worldwide.

To stay in touch with Canada voip, such as from fongo.com, with wifi is the way to go. Texting back to Canada is about $2/month; incoming SMS is free.
