Wifi is separate from your data. You may need to enter your wifi password on your phone but not on your PM account.

Your Wi-Fi password isn't linked to your Public Mobile account in any way.

What do you mean?
Once you are home or wherever, if your wifi is on, the phone will automatically connect.
If you don't have wi-fi access, then you will be using data.
