Dats use doesn't line up

Hi! My data use when I go into usage looks like 4 mB but when I look at data use on the main screen it's 10 MB. Why?

The overview counter is the one that matters. Yes. There's a small buffer that shows up temporarily when one turns on data. 5.293MB to be precise. Turn off data (and leave it off) and sometime overnight it will reset the counter down to a real consumption number. Or flip in and out of airplane mode and it will reset.

There have been past discussions of some data reset quirk where the meter doesn't really go to zero but some small non zero amount around 5MB.  Some have said the meter backtracks later.
