Data usage.

Hi

My dad signed up for the $19 plan today. Unlimited talk and text and 1 gig of data. He sent a bunch of texts today (no pictures) and in usage history it says he used about 10% of his data already? No Internet usage.

this happens to me every month.  sometimes they adjust it if I ask..

it is annoying!

@bostrosky   just to confirm, the the 100Mb really cleared up this morning (after 24 hours)?

just one correction for the line " unless they are loaded with MMS messages (Pictures).",  true MMS needs data to turn on, but MMS usage does not count towards the data bucket. So, even MMS was sent l, it won't cost you the 10% of the data use at all

  • By using wifi only shouldn’t his data usage be 0 regardless of the iMessages?

Thx for the replies. He had been using wifi the whole time of the data usage.

Hi @bostrosky 

Text messages aren't apart of data usage unless they are loaded with MMS messages (Pictures). HOWEVER, with that being said, if he's using an iPhone, iMessages DO use data. If he's using an Android, then he may wish or you may wish to go to his application data and clear his cache and resign in. That should be a little more accurate however there is usually a 12 hour delay and it might be reading previous data usage.

The data usage is not accurate, it seems to start with 100mb, it should be fixed by tomorrow morning after 8:00 am EST, as the data is gets updated overnight 

you can try PM app as it may be more accurate 

if you still have the same issue by tomorrow, then you need to submit a ticket with CS Agent using this Chatbot link
