I purchased a new plan for Canada, US, & Mexico. on renewal date about a week ago, but when I entered the US, the data works very slow and I am unable to phone out nor receive phone calls.
I submitted a ticket over 24 hours ago, but Public Mobile did not reply.
Now what?

VoLTE compatibility is a hot topic these days as Canada begins the shutdown of the 3G network. There is no definitive shutdown date for Public Mobile, but if you were a Rogers customer you will lose calling capability at the end of the month. The US has shut down their 3G network several years ago. It is such old news that nobody talks about it anymore.
Edit: I just found this link concerning Telus 3G network shutdown. It looks in Manitoba is a guinea pig and I am sure that the rest of the country is not far behind.

PM has removed the VoLTE checker. But Samsung S20 is not on the VoLTE whitelist, hence you had the issue with voice calls

@Levisbis , use the VoLTE checker to confirm compatibility for your phone. If your phone is VoLTE compatible, make sure that VoLTE setting is turned on as some phone models do have a toggle feature in the settings. If your phone is not compatible, then phone calls will not be possible while in the US.

You need a VoLTE recognized cell for talk but data should work. Try manually using 4G/LTE rather than 5G, to get data speeded up. Also, download free voip app TextNow to be able to call home using your data or wifi.

For voice calls to work in US, you need a phone that is on PM's VoLTE whitelist, what phone is that?
but for data, it should work without problem. Try the different networks, manually connect each and test. T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon

what phone do you have? If could be the fact that your phone is not VoLTE whitelisted with PM.
