I was checking the data on my son’s account. I know his phone is on wifi and he was away at camp and his phone was on our kitchen counter. Yet some how he managed to use 8gb without even being at home, and the breakdown only shows possibly 1gb of use in the week his account has been active

Thanks for the info! I did check the PM data break down section and in that section it says for the whole week it’s been about 1Gb there has only been 1 week so far on the service. And in the last 48 hours that the phone has been connected the data total usage says 7.86Gb but in break down it’s still about the 1Gb

Usually the PM data tracker is accurate. It only posts accumulative data usage one or twice per day (usually earlier in the morning). Sometimes the phone data tracker is not in sync with the PM 30 day billing cycle.
Did you check the data usage breakdown in your son's PM self service account?
Sometimes Wifi service has service issues, then the phone may use the data instead.
If you feel that there is indeed a data usage error, then you could contact customer service agent for further clarification. Click on the chat icon on the right lower corner of website and follow prompts to submit a ticket. You won't get a response until the morning.
