Data not working new Ulefone X31

I changed the APN to Public like I did with my older phone, it says 3G in the status bar, and no internet connectivity

I'm a bit disappointed that the network does not send the proper settings...

What speed you have jf you use 4G?? You have a 5G plan but you can get good speed on 4G too, maybe better speed if your area does not have good 5G

And which city you are in?

And you can ask PM to reset the account on the system

Just open ticket with PM using the Orange Chatbot icon on the lower right. (For 2FA when login, you might need to use email to receive if you cannot receive the text on the phone.) Type the question Submit ticket and select Contact Us to get to ticket open screen

But if you have trouble with open ticket using Chatbot, then message them using this link: https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437

4G is even worse, what's with that?

This is not what I'm paying for...

Well turns out that the update from Android 14 to 15 resolved thie issue (whatever it was) and data is working at 5G speed

Thanks @slusagm @hTideGnow @Socrates8567 for the help

I checked the settings and it looks like you posted, the phone must be defective...

@Overwatch

that should have 4G or LTE.  If you see it showing only 3G, something not right.  Make sure it connects to 4G or LTE (or even 5G) first

and are you in Manitoba?

The phone is 5G capable, my older phone is 4G and that was working fine with the same APN... Go figure

If the APN settings are correct but you still have no data, try this.

Turn it on for 10 seconds and then off to force the phone to reconnect to the nearest tower.

On some international phones, you must enable Data Roaming in your settings to connect to Public Mobile’s partner towers, even if you are in Canada.

Ensure your network is set to 4G/LTE (Auto). While the X31 is a newer model, some international variants may struggle if set strictly to 5G in areas with lower coverage.

It sounds cliché, but Ulefone software often requires a full restart to apply new APN configurations.

it says 3G, but can it use LTE or 4G or 5G?  Check the network mode to confirm

And  you are in Manitoba? only  Manitoba has 3G decommissioned
