It says I have run out of Data but it still shows I have plenty of data left in settings under Data Usage. How do I fix this?

To purchase Add-Ons using your Self-Serve account, follow these steps:

  1. Click on ‘Purchase Add- Ons’ on the Overview tab and scroll down to the Add-On calculator.
  2. Click the plus sign (+) to add and the minus sign (-) to remove selected Add-ons.
  3. When you’ve added all your desired Add-Ons, click ‘Buy Add-Ons’ or ‘Make a Payment’ below the calculator:
    • You will see ‘Make a Payment’ instead of ‘Buy Add-Ons’ if there are not enough funds in your account to make the purchase.
    • If you don’t have sufficient funds to purchase the Add-Ons, you will be asked to make a one-time payment equal to the price of the Add-On, less your current available funds. Click ‘Submit’, then ‘Go back’: now the button below the calculator will say ‘Buy Add-Ons’.

I use the built in Android data monitoring (which I adjust the start date every month or so..no biggie) and one thing to keep in mind is that picture/multimedia texts use mobile data (but not billed for it) and will be included in the Android counter.  If you do a lot of these picture texts the delta between your counter and the PM system will be greater.

But yeah, as other said, the online account in PM is the source of truth on the matter.

 @communitything : Log in to your self-serve account and look under My Data & Add-ons to see any lines mentioning data. Or call 611 and use your 4 digit PIN to get your amount of data left.

@communitything   PM running on a 30 days cycle and the phone uses monthly.

If you don't want to reset the counter on the phone monthly, try use app for help

Android: Data Usage Manager & Monitor (formally Data Counter Widget) or Data Witness PM

iOS: My Data Manager

With these app, just setup one cycle start date, then set 30 days cycle and then set your data limit and it will track for you.  It will also show you how much data each app used.

@communitything

Is your data working?  I would go by what shows in your self service account page under Data and Adds on section.

Sometimes, PM will send erroneous text warnings.

Public Mobile doesn't go by the counter in your phone.  The phone's data counter amount will usually be per month.  However, Public Mobile's plans aren't a month long. The start and end dates for the usage that your phone is displaying won't be correct.  For the most accurate numbers, please log into your Public Mobile account to see how much data is remaining.
