I am travelling to Costa Rica for 2 weeks. Will I need to purchase a SIM card there and will improving my data speed via my subscription help me down there?

My daughter is Costa Rica right now and she purchased an e-sim through Airelo and said it works great. For a physical sim she recommended CLARO which is available at the airport or in convenience stores.

Yes that is the one of the option you have by purchasing a local SIM or use WhatsApp or Fongo app through wifi or SIM data.
If you phone doesn’t have a dual SIM tray. Put the PM SIM in a ziplock bag (easy to loss) so you won’t lose it and keep it in a safe place.
