I've been getting a phone call every day now from various numbers different area codes, sometimes even my own area code, sometimes unknown number. Its an automated message and I hear a Chinese woman speaking. Of course I don't speak Chinese so I have no clue what she's saying. I passed it to a Chinese co worker and he heard part of the message and it seems to be talking about a failed package delivery and to press an option to connect with someone maybe. The message repeats over a few times then disconnects.
Does anyone know anything about this?
Anything I can do to make this stop?

The phone scammers have been pretty active in recent past. My block list is growing fast. Not much we can do really.

Well, doctors on my Contact list, as well as stores that I shop regularly.
Anyway, you can listen messages that they left on your Voicemail; at least your phone would not ring when they call you!

Ok sounds like a common problem then.
The only problem with the call blocking apps solution is it can block calls from outside your contact list that you might be expecting, like doctors number for example.

I've also received these calls and so many others. They often spoof different phone numbers making them very difficult to block. I have a bit of hesitation around using call blocking apps as I am concerned with my privacy. I basically don't answer calls I don't recognize or set my phone to do not disturb so only my contacts will ring through. It isn't practical for everyone, but it works for me.

I played them to Google Translate and the result is worth a good laugh 😉
For example:
- "Ask to ring the bell to optimize the aluminum plastic door cyclone member"
- "If you have any questions, please press the bell oil French entry cyclone"
- And, maybe the same you received:
- "Hello here is the last comrade of the Consulate-General. You have a top-level document has not yet received the value Wuxi consulting please press the mention"
- "Hello, here is the Consulate General's last notice that you have a hidden file that has not yet received a message."

Yes, I received those as well!
There are various call blocking apps on the market and I have installed one. I have set it so that only people in my Contact list can call me, the others (Spam as well) will be blocked and sent to Voicemail, and then I would just delete them.

Yes, i did too on my work (Bell) and personal (PM) lines. It's ridiculous to hear when i don't even know a word in chinese. Many of my co-workers got it too. Sadly, nothing we can do to stop other than reporting that numebr as spam 😞
