Hello
I have a basic mobile plan with 100 Canada wide minutes. I see that PM is offering unlimited Canada wide minutes for the same price. But only for new activations.
Can I cancel my current plan and sign on for this new plan where I can get unlimited minutes? Will my phone number change?

You must have activated with Public Mobile sometime before they changed their rewards program to Public Points on January 25th 2022. The old rewards program that they had promised to allow customers to keep if they wanted to was suddenly announced in March of this year to be retired and all "legacy rewards" customers would be automatically enrolled in the Public Points program this past May.
Your $4/30 days discount likely consisted of the $2 autopay reward+$2 loyalty reward ($1/30 days after every year with Public Mobile up to a maximum of $5/30 days). With Public Points you now earn "Get Back 5%" in points on purchases ($19=0.95pts=$0.95) and 10pts=$10 in "Anniversary" points on your Activation date each year. If you refer a friend who uses your referral code you earn 1pt/30 days that they have an active account or help out in the community you can earn up to 15pts/month (only oracles earn 20pts/month).
You also recieve a one-time welcome gift of 5pts. After one year if you stay on the same $19 plan you will earn: Welcome gift of : 5 points+10 Anniversary points=15pts+11.40 Get Back 5% points (12×0.95=11.40pts)=26.40pts=$26.40
Points can be redeemed for discounted add ons, the occasional jackpot contest or $15 bill credits (no points are earned on bill credits). Check your rewards account for current earnings/offers.

I had the same thought.
Then just moved to the $19 plan instead.
It's also weird because my $15 plan never really cost me $15. I've had a $4 reduction for years for some reason I never understood. I am a bit disappointed but eh.

Hello @OA1 Of course you can. You can move to any other service provider you like and port back to Public Mobile if you choose. However, with that being said, Telus is offering a prepaid $100 unlimited talk and text with no data. For the first year and second year. You may wish to look into this offer as it would save you $160 over two years. Then when the two years are up, see what your options are like out there.

@OA1 if you opt to open a new account for the plan, you cannot retain your plan
Only way to do is to port out your line to another provider and then port it back in after a short while. But of course, that could have other cost sim cards
