Change from eSIM to SIM

KMag
Great Neighbour / Super Voisin

Hi - I'm new to PM and have purchased a plan. When I bought the plan, I selected eSIM because I thought my phone was compatible (iPhone 13 mini)... but apparently it is not compatible and I need a physical SIM card. How do I go about requesting a physical SIM card? and will I just need to pay for that card? (it's like $10 or so, right?), or do I have to go back in and select a different plan now? Have I lost the $40 I've paid for the plan already?

Thanks for any help!

Ok, thanks, this is helpful. I do see on my iPhone, in Cellular, I can "Add eSIM". So that's good!

I can not find a welcome email with a QR code, so I will email customer service. Thanks for the link.

Thanks, I'm going to try @JRod 's suggestion first. But I really appreciate the tips regarding where to order from if I need to do that.

Thx, I'm going to try @JRod's solution first.

Your iPhone 13 should be esim compatible. But if you still want a physical sim check here to find a list of retailers near you that may sell sim cards:

https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/pick-up-SIM

Or buy from Amazon for half the price:

Public Mobile Prepaid SIM Prepaid Phone - (Universal/SmartPhones), Packaging May Vary https://a.co/d/32SNBTS

Whatever you do, do not order it from Public Mobile's website directly, as they take weeks to arrive.

@KMag

The iPhone 13 mini should be eSIM compatible. If you go to the cellular settings section on your device you should see the option to add eSIM. If you don’t see this option make sure your iOS version is up to date and then check again. When you signed up you should have received a QR code in the welcome email that you can use to manually add the eSIM to your device.

If you didn’t receive this you will have to message customer service to re-issue you the QR code.

Please click this link below to message customer service:

Keep an eye on your mailbox here as that is where your reply will come in (envelope icon on desktop, click your avatar icon in the corner and then click messages if on mobile).

Once it’s on your device manually click the eSIM and make sure Turn on this line is enabled and then reboot your device.
