I am changing from an Iphone5s that is activated with PM. I took the SIM out of that phone and put it in the Iphone 6 and it says activation required. I thought it was supposed to work right away. Now what do I do?

@Raazkhan00 Your phone is locked you need to get it unlocked by the previous provider before you can use it with PM.

Sounds like you have a previously used phone, my friend. Hope you didn't pay new price for it.

If you Bought your iPhone at an Apple store and paid Retail Price for it, it should have never been Locked to begin with. Apple Store sold you a Bell Locked phone which as you can see is impossible to unlock because Bell is so hard to deal with. I would go back to the Apple store and speak to the manager about the hell they put you through by selling you a locked phone.

iphone bought from apple store must be never locked (I don't like the word unlocked, because unlocked might mean been locked previously). If it has been (and still is) locked to bell, it is the store's problem, nothing with bell. Go get another one from apple store with your receipt. You don't have to deal with bell.

Oh they have the imei but bell actually wants to see a receipt with the imei on it before they unlock it! This has been so frustrating!!

The IMEI should be somewhere physically on the phone or down in some menu option somewhere. Or even some dialer code to get it.
Edit: Here

@Delo wrote:It is brand new and unlocked. I tried turning it off and on and that didn't work. I can't get to the settings to check the apn. The screen comes up activation required and when I choose dismiss it puts up a screen that says that the sim card that is in is from a carrier that is not supported and I can't get past that screen.
If that is the message you are getting then your iPhone is 100% Locked to another Provider. No ifs & or buts

Searching the web, as one does these days, the 'Activation required' message is not because of Public Mobile. The iPhone is displaying that message because the iPhone needs to be activated. See this article . Have a read through that article first, then move on to the Public Mobile SIM card and line; there might be issues there, but let's sort out the iPhone activation issue first. We'll wait right here.

Where does it say Activation Required?
Do you have another phone to test the SIM card in?
Is the iPhone 6 unlocked?
Withe Public Mobile SIM card in the phone, have you tried powering off the iPhone 6 and turning it back on?
Check the APN settings

Is the iPhone 6 locked to another provider? If yes, you need to get it unlocked before you can use it.
