Hi Community,
I am interested in changing my plan up since there is currently a service I am not using. I have attempted to do this but everytime I try on the webpage I get the message:
"This cost of this plan is higher than your current available funds.
You will need to make a payment to your account to complete the plan change"
I'm assuming this is because I am on auto-pay and my available funds are always zero as a result. Is there anyway around this? Or do I have to make a payment outside of my automatic set up?
Thanks!

That message about requiring a payment because of the the account credit balance being less than the plan fee only applies when the immediate plan change option is chosen. In such a case, the payment must be made manually.
Customers should not need to make a payment at the same time as selecting the change at renewal option.

Seems to happen fairly often for whatever reason. All you can do is contact the moderators to get it fixed and we can all hope they track down the cause of this problem soon.

Yes. They always say system erro. Anyway, thank you.

It looks as if there may have been a system error because you did everthing correctly. Best to contact a moderator by clicking ?, bottom right, and follow instructions. They should respond within a few hours or a day.

I had changed my plan on the next plan renewal date and completed payment a week ago. But on the date Dec 27 when my former plan finished, my plan is not updated but expired. PM still asks me to pay for my former plan and say I don't have enough found but I did choose autopay plan. What is the problem?

I have done numerous plan changes both up and down over this past year and have never noticed that message, I am on autopay and always select change at next renewal.

Always best to change plans on next renewal date so as to not lose any remaining days of your current plan. Changing plans before renewal is really a waste of money.

1. When you do a plan change immediately, there is no refund of the unused days of your current cycle.
2. PM always wants the full new plan amount if your change plan immediately. PM will not apply your rewards to your new plan.
3. If you can wait, schedule plan change on your next renewal date. Your rewards will be applied before plan change at renewal date.

To change right away, you'd need to log into My Account / Make a Payment to cover the cost of desired plan. Then go back and make the purchase that plan. You'll sacrifice whatever balance of talk/text/data is remaining on your current account but will be changed right away.
Alternative is to select the new plan you want, but clcik Change at next renewal. That way you won't be billed from the on file credit card until renewal date.

Yes. It's been a while. I have forgotten exactly how the self serve behaves for immediate plan change. If it's exactly like buying an add-on, then it is two steps, add-on funds followed by making the purchase.

@ctoderash , are you attempting am immediate plan change? Charges will happen immediately in that case. If you do a plan change in next renewal, everything should be automatic.
