I just purchased a sim and subscribe to the 1G data plan, however I am still unable to activate the data usage on my iPhone 7 Plus even after I set the APN. I checked that my iphone is not locked and compatible with the network by validating the IMEI number!
Please help!

Hi Luddite, thanks a lot for your quick help! I did do a) to e) and repeated the procedures many times but still not work. Thanks to your item (g) suggestion that I look into Setting>>General and found there was a profile of another sim I used when I last travelled in Japan. After I deleted that profile it works right away! Thank you very much!!

@jennyli11 Things to try in order to narrow down your exact problem:
a) login to your account and confirm the plan is correct and Status is "Axtive"
b) reboot your phone with the SIM installed
c) reset Network Settings; you will need to add back wifi passwords
d) lf your APN is "isp.mb.com", or anything else, change it to "sp.mb.com"
e) check that cellular data is ON
f) try your SIM in another unlocked phone
g) go to Settings >> General >> About; if you are offered a carrier update accept it.
