mom planning to switch to another provider today and keep same phone number . 
my credit card has been charged 5 days ago.

am I eligible for a partial refund ?

sorry, no parital refund here.  So, to make sure no waste of money, plan the port closer to the end of the current cycle, but don't wait till last day.  I suggest you to port out 5 days before end of cycle

and remember, you don't close the account here before you port.  Keep the account active, request porting with the new carrier.  After port is completed, your PM account would be closed
