Canada/USA plan

I will be in the USA for 6 months. I see there is Canada/USA plan so does that mean while I am IN the USA I can receive and make calls to and from Canada?  I don’t need roaming at all?  And while IN USA can make calls to other USA numbers? It doesn’t matter to me when I am back in Canada again I will just switch back to plan I have now.

Ok good, to verify the presence of volte, turn off wifi. Observe your indicators in the top bar. Make a call (say 611) and observe those indicators while on the call. It should stay on LTE if volte is enabled. It probably is. If it changes to 3G then have you made all the OS updates?

Adding - there are no extra charges here

I was hoping that when I sign up, I get details on how it all works. I don’t want to get any roaming charges.

I have an iPhone 12 mini, and it supposed to have it, but I went into the settings and it’s not there. I was hoping when I sign up for the plan it’s going to tell me how it all works because I don’t want any mystery charges like roaming or whatever I’ve had enough of that from other companies. And the plan says you have to stick with it for 90 days and I don’t wanna be stuck with something that doesn’t even work.  I am on a month to month plan though and it’s a cheap one.

Do you know if your phone has been enabled for volte here yet? Talk is the questionable part of roaming. Data and text should work fine. I suggest keeping automatic networks on and if you're on 5G, set it to 4G LTE.

HI @Lorilz yes, it is best to change to one of the Canada-US plan.  You can use the service like you are in Canada and can call/text Canada and US

and yes, you can change it back to regular plan whenever you don't need it
