Can you "Change on Renewal Date" to take advantage of a current promotion?

The 20GB plan for $29 is +10GB better than what was available for black friday.

My next renewal date is January 24th, the promotion ends December 31st.

If I select the "Change on Renewal Date" option before December 31st, will this still work and go into effect on my next renewal date, or do I need to select the "Change Now" option to make this work?

Obviously, the preferred method here is to "Change on Renewal Date" as I just renewed, but not sure how this works. Any experts out there able to chime in?

I have changed plans several times and have always picked "Change At Renewal" that way I won't lose anything I paid plus I still get whatever plan I picked. I would strongly suggest taking a screenshot when you change it for renewal so you have a record of it. Then check the app in a few days to make sure it "sticks" sort of speak. Some reports have been made that it never stuck but they had no proof they changed it. Screenshot everything as proof!!

If you select a plan before it expires, and choose to change on renewal, it will work. You will assume the new plan on your renewal date and lose nothing in the process. Be sure to take a screen shot of your account page showing the change in process, just in case something goes wrong, so you can revert back to an agent for the fix. hope this helps
