HI @darlicious At least you are fair, you give your bravos to everyone participated here.
Hola1? Only OP and you and 1 more benefit. Look like OP does not know him, and we believe you, that left with the only other beneficiary in this scheme 🤔

Lol...yes @HOLA1 can be very enthusiastic and bravo a whole thread if they like it but then again I just did the same thing for a thread where everyone collaborated and worked together to achieve a common goal. I am very proud of my fellow members for doing so.....👍

Oh and another thing....since you don't use much data how much do use your phone for talk? If you don't call other people a whole lot as in talk on your phone for more than 11 hours a month you may be better off on the $15 plan with the $5/500min add on to supplement the 100 outgoing minutes.
Most customers use on average 200 outgoing minutes a month meaning they would use 100 extra outgoing minutes from the $5/500min add on which would add on average an extra $1 to the cost of the $15 plan. The $15 comes with 250mb of data which you would probably would be fine with but again you could purchase the $15/1gb data add on to supplement your data usage. All add ons are one time purchases that do not expire until completely consumed.
If you use an extra 250mb a month it would add an additional $3.75 or an extra 200mb/$3.25 on average per month. So by scheduling a change plan on next renewal to the $15 and purchasing the add ons if needed the average cost of your plan would be $15+$1+$3.25=$19.25/30 days. More or less with the need to repurchase add ons every 5 months or so....except at Xmas when we hopefully get the 4th annual "More is merrier" holiday add on gifts of 2gb of data and 500 international minutes. These alone would almost cover your probable supplemental minute and data usage needs.
You can save somewhere between $70 to $180 per year by changing plans and employing a few usage saving tricks. Something to think about anyways.🤔

Hi @darlicious 71 replies. but what is more amazing is 37 brovos from HOLA1 on this
07-30-2022 08:45 PM
Wow 71 replies my goodness! So did your data stop working after your trip to the US? I think that's what caused your APN to switch to telus when you were roaming and came back to Canada. The other issue is your OS but it didnt block you from editing your APN. Your phone may have originally been a telus phone. If you can update your OS to Android 9 or higher it should eliminate this issue from recurring.
BTW....your mom's name isn't Sharon is It?

Right. But the curiosity is on what happened that two or three months ago. Doesn't matter now of course.

it stopped connecting to the internet two or three months ago, and I have mostly used WiFi, but occasionally need Mobile Data, so I was wondering what happened, I am still paying for Mobile Data, 1GB, not much but enough for me, so thanks for this community, I finally found with some help what's wrong and reset as per web site for my phone Asus, exactly model as here: https://apn-canada.gishan.net/en/apn/public-mobile/asus-zenfone-live-l1-za550kl
07-22-2022 07:44 PM
Sounds like you got it all figured. I wonder what happened that brought you here asking.

You haven't answered whether that's on cell data or wifi.
I still question the functionality of the phone on this provider. And you haven't answered where it was before when you said it had been a few months since you had used data.
07-22-2022 07:13 PM
why do FB/messenger and email work, but nothing else too long to respond to any website??? on 4G??
07-22-2022 06:51 PM
but before you can't use internet and now you have internet, please check again the APN or enter by add new APN and do you change the SIM number 1 to number 2 and turn off device before take SIM out.
you know what i think about your device need to do factory reset, but you need to save your contact number and phone/videos.. this your issue with your device not sure is the SIM but you need found out some friend o member family to put it your SIM card in other device, you know.
07-22-2022 06:46 PM
email and FB/messenger work, all other websites are too long to download
07-22-2022 06:31 PM
Where did this phone used to be used before this trouble? I really think it's a marginal phone for Public.
07-22-2022 06:27 PM

Is your wifi on? Turn it off to make sure you're using cell internet.
Reviewing the specs...I'm not sure this is particularly good phone for here. It appears to have one band for talk and one band for LTE.
Adding - Add as in adding a whole new APN set.
07-22-2022 06:06 PM
@AndrewOstrowski I guess you can also try the internet at another location and see if yiubaee better speed. Could he use a problem at where you are now
07-22-2022 06:06 PM

07-22-2022 06:04 PM
I did as you indicated, shows 3G under Mobile Data, but still, no internet, email works, FB/messenger works, I have internet I think? but v.slow, thanks for your help!!!! it says connecting to internet....... forever, a too long message says
07-22-2022 05:54 PM
@AndrewOstrowski- Reading some other threads, do you have another company sim? Dead or alive? Maybe you could turn off the phone, remove the Public sim, insert the old sim, turn on the phone, see if you can add/edit the apn. If not turn the phone off, remove old sim, insert Public sim, turn on phone and maybe maybe maybe the apn will show up. Doubt it. But odd things can happen.

your device has Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by)
can you turn off device and take out SIM card and inserting in SIM #1 or SIM #2
after you set the APN.
07-22-2022 05:48 PM
check this APN settings
07-22-2022 05:34 PM
@Timer- I forgot about Add. Let's see if that works.
07-22-2022 05:33 PM
APN settings:1) Open your settings, then tap:
2) Ensure the following fields match:
3) If you needed to make a change, hit save, reboot, and you’re good to go!Make sure to enable data in your phone settings.

no, it says sp.telus.com this is marked

Yeah that's a problem. One option is to go to a Freedom Mobile store and see if you can use a tossed sim to edit the APN. I know, seems odd. Maybe a new one would work I guess. Another option that seems hit or miss is to ask the support people to text you a file that sets the proper APN settings for here. Yet another option is quite technical.
Adding - I wonder how and why the APN changed from when it used to work. Was that working here? Or at another provider? Did you do a substantial system update (although the phone might be getting past update window opportunities)
